Key points
- Plan by product: each Guangzhou market cluster specialises, and the best stalls for your category are usually in one or two areas.
- Go early: markets open around 8:30–9:30 and many stalls slow down by late afternoon.
- Write price, pieces per carton, carton size, weight and ready date on every order slip.
- Give each stall your shipping mark and our warehouse entry notice; one cut-off date keeps the container on schedule.
- Ship genuine goods only: replica brands are seized by China Customs and by UAE and GCC customs.
Why Gulf buyers source in Guangzhou
Guangzhou is the commercial centre of the Pearl River Delta, surrounded by garment, leather, cosmetics, furniture and electronics factories in Guangdong. Its markets let a buyer see the products of hundreds of small manufacturers in one day and buy smaller quantities than a factory would accept. For Dubai, Sharjah, Muscat and the wider Gulf, Guangzhou also has a logistics advantage: our office there handles pickup, inspection and consolidation, and Nansha port has regular sailings to the Middle East.

Tips by category
- Garments fall under HS chapters 61 (knitted) and 62 (woven); write fibre content and knitted or woven on the order.
- Regulated textiles in the UAE need conformity and labels in Arabic, or Arabic and English.
- Buy fabric at Zhongda only if you have a maker; finished garments are easier to clear.
- Cosmetics need product registration and Arabic labelling in the Gulf before they can be sold.
- Ask for ingredient lists, batch numbers and expiry dates for every product.
- Aerosols and some liquids are dangerous goods and need special booking.
- Anything with a lithium battery must be declared with a UN38.3 test summary and SDS.
- Chargers and devices may need UAE conformity or type approval.
- Check power banks especially: they are often refused in mixed cargo.
- Furniture is bulky: measure CBM early, it decides LCL or a 40HQ.
- Solid wooden crates and pallets must be ISPM 15 treated and IPPC stamped.
- Ask for knock-down packing where possible to save volume.
How buying works in Guangzhou markets
Each stall is a showroom for a factory or a wholesaler. The minimum order is set per stall and per style or colour, and is often negotiable if you buy several items. Prices are quoted in RMB. Small stock orders are usually paid in full; for new production, stalls may take a deposit and the balance before delivery. Always ask whether the goods are in stock or must be produced, because that changes the ready date and your container cut-off.
- Walk and shortlistSpend the first day comparing stalls in one market cluster and photograph samples with stall numbers.
- Ask the same questionsPrice per piece, MOQ, pieces per carton, carton size, gross weight and ready date.
- Write an order slipPut every detail and your shipping mark on the slip, and keep a copy with the stall's company name and phone.
- Pay safelyPay the account in the name on the order slip or contract; confirm any change of bank details by phone.
- Arrange deliveryGive the stall our warehouse entry notice and cut-off date. Many stalls deliver locally or use market logistics.
- Confirm arrivalOur warehouse confirms cartons received against your list and tells you about any gaps.

Consolidation at our Guangzhou warehouse
Our Guangzhou team receives goods from your stalls and factories, checks them and loads them into one container or one LCL shipment, so you get one B/L and one import clearance instead of many small shipments. Under about 12 CBM, LCL is usually cheaper; from about 15 CBM a 20ft container is often better value, and a 40HQ holds about 65–68 CBM of cartons in practice. Storage is free for a limited number of days and then charged, so set the cut-off close to the loading date.
- Count cartons against each stall's packing list and report shortages or damage the same day.
- Photograph goods and labels so you can see what arrived without travelling back.
- Optional checks: quantities, labels and Arabic stickers, or a sample inspection under AQL for higher-value lines.
- Export declaration: under 1039 for market goods, or by each supplier under general trade if it claims its VAT rebate.
- Truck to Nansha for export; as of November 2026 Dubai cargo is discharged at Khor Fakkan and moved under customs seal to Jebel Ali.
- UAE import clearance with 5% duty on the CIF value and 5% VAT paid at cost, then delivery to your store or warehouse.
Usable space: 20GP ~25–28 CBM, 40GP ~55–58, 40HQ ~65–68.
